Haven’t touched a barbell in two months. Sitting on the rack with my bar loaded on the floor, ready to pull my next deadlift. Guy says “how much is that on the bar??” “200kg” I say. “You’re brave man - how does it feel to lift that much?” “Fucking hard”. You bet your ass I lifted that shit though. Cleanest 200kg pull of my life.
Ahh, it’s good to be back.
I need someone to send me a high quality fitness-oriented selfie (of themselves). Something that will look okay 500px wide. Man/woman/animal doesn’t matter - but, you DO NEED a sense of humour.
Use the submit button and add a message so I know it’s for this! :)
So I’m back proper now, over my illness and looking again to make some big leaps forward with my training. I’ll be heading down to the gym tomorrow to sort out my payments (it closed early today - bank holiday).
The blog has a new look; a new colour scheme which should be a bit easier on the eyes. I’ll also be trying to get back in to putting out some pics. Hopefully something I come up with will catch your eye.
Hope you’re all progressing well. It’s good to be back.
surge-to-new-levels-with-fitness:
As humans we are not perfect. As much as we strive towards perfection, we will never achieve it. That is because perfection does not exist. Perfection is a man made idea. Yet, while it is still an idea it is still something that allows us to push forward understood under the proper mindset.
So you may not always stick to your diet perfectly, you may not always hit the numbers you have programmed properly, you may not always be able to go 100% without breaking down. The key however, is in understanding that reality and moving forward with the hope that you will be able to get as close as you can. It’s a delicate balance between cold reality and optimism.
This is the battle we must all fight. If you expect too much and you think you can put 50lbs on your squat in two weeks then you will fail. If you think you will never amount to anything because it is too hard, then you will also fail.
Find your balance, and with the realization that imperfection is just fine: you will find success.
